Premium can be bought, and it can be earned. Contributing to Entropia Central grants premium automatically, for as long as you keep contributing. There is nothing to claim, nothing to apply for, and nothing that expires without warning.
There are two ways to earn it, and they count toward the same score:
- Running the tracker, so the globals you see are recorded. Open to every account.
- Keeping the wiki up to date, which needs the Wiki Maintainer role.
This page describes the earned side. For what premium costs and what EC Credits do, see premium and EC Credits.
The two tiers
Earned premium is not a trial or a discount. It is its own tier, with its own benefits.
| Paid | Earned | |
|---|---|---|
| Ad-free site | Yes | Yes |
| Assistant messages per day | 25 | 5 |
| Place advertisements | Yes | No |
| How you get it | Purchase with PED or EC Credits | Contributing |
The assistant costs real money to run per message, which is the only reason the two tiers differ there. Everything else that is free stays free for everyone, tier or no tier.
If you hold both at once, the paid tier applies and the earned one waits underneath it. Nothing is wasted: when the paid subscription ends, the earned coverage takes over from that day, with the time it had left intact.
How the score works
Your score is measured over a rolling 30-day window, and 30 points earns 30 days of premium.
| Contribution | Points |
|---|---|
| A day on which you contributed any globals | 3 |
| Creating a wiki entry | 3 |
| Updating a wiki entry | 1 |
So: ten days of running the tracker, or ten new wiki entries, or thirty wiki edits, or any mix of the three.
Globals are scored by day, not by volume
A day on which you contributed one global and a day on which you contributed three hundred are worth the same 3 points.
This is deliberate. An evening in a busy area can produce hundreds of contributions, so paying per global would clear the threshold in a single session and would reward parking the tracker somewhere crowded over actually playing. Days are the honest unit: it takes ten days of tracking in a month to qualify, which is a real commitment and one that no amount of volume can shortcut.
Submitting a global and confirming one somebody else already reported both count. Confirmations are what make the record trustworthy, so they are worth the same as being first, exactly as they are for EC Credits.
Wiki edits have their own guards
Three rules keep wiki scoring honest, and they matter if a number looks lower than the amount of work you did:
Repeat edits to the same entry on the same day count once. Saving a weapon, spotting a typo, and saving it again is one edit, not two. Fix things freely; correcting yourself is never penalised, and never rewarded either.
Reverted changes score nothing. If an admin has to undo a change, it stops counting from that moment.
There is a ceiling of 10 wiki points a day. A bulk import evening is worth a good day, not a year of premium.
Changes made by our own background jobs, the enrichment and statistics tasks that touch wiki entries on a schedule, are not attributed to anyone and never count.
How it renews
A job runs once a day and checks everyone's score:
- Above the threshold and no earned premium yet? You are granted 30 days, and told about it in a notification.
- Above the threshold with earned premium already running? Your coverage is topped up to 30 days from today.
- Below the threshold? Nothing happens. Your existing coverage keeps running down as normal.
Coverage is topped up, not stacked. Qualifying every day for six months does not bank six months of premium; it keeps you permanently at roughly 30 days of runway. Coverage never reaches more than 60 days ahead.
The practical effect is that a regular contributor never thinks about this at all, and someone who stops keeps premium for about a month afterwards before it quietly lapses.
Following your progress
Your score, the breakdown between tracking and wiki work, and when your earned premium expires are all on the premium page in your dashboard. It shows the raw counts behind the number, so the score is never a black box.
You are notified when earned premium is first granted, and again if it expires. Renewals are silent, since being told every month that nothing changed is not useful.
Getting started
To earn it by tracking, install Entropia Central Tracker and let it run while you play. It reads your chat log and reports globals as they happen. That is the whole of it. See getting started with Entropia Central Tracker.
To earn it through the wiki, apply for the Wiki Maintainer role. It is a short form reviewed by one of our admins, and the editing rules are in creating and editing wiki entries.
If your premium lapses
Nothing is lost. Wiki access comes from your Wiki Maintainer role, not from premium, so maintainers can still edit exactly as before. Get back above the threshold and premium returns on the next daily run.
