Everything on Entropia Central that counts as an achievement comes from one place: the global messages Entropia Universe broadcasts in game. Nothing is entered by hand, and nothing is read out of the game itself.

Understanding this pipeline answers most of the questions people have about their own records, particularly the ones that start with "why isn't my".

Where a global comes from

The game announces a global to everyone in range. If somebody in range is running Entropia Central Tracker, it reads that announcement out of their chat log and sends it here.

That is the whole mechanism, and two consequences follow from it.

Somebody has to have seen it. A global that nobody tracked was still a global in game, it simply was not recorded here. There is no feed from the game we could fall back on.

It does not have to be you. Anyone who saw the message can be the one who submits it. Your globals routinely arrive here through other players' trackers, which is why your profile can fill in even before you have ever run the tracker yourself.

The same global submitted many times

A busy area means one global reaches us from a dozen different people. It is stored once.

Each submission is fingerprinted from the message text itself, so identical messages collapse into a single record no matter who sent them or when they arrived. You will never see the same event twice on a profile or in a feed because several people were standing nearby.

What repeated submissions do build up is confidence.

Integrity and contributors

The first person to submit a global sets its integrity from their own account standing. Everyone who submits the same global afterwards is added as a contributor, and their standing is added to the integrity total.

So integrity is not a measure of how big or impressive a global was. It is a measure of how well corroborated it is: a global seen and reported by eight people is a stronger record than one reported by a single account, and the number says so.

The contributors list keeps everyone who reported it, not just whoever was first. Submitting a global that is already recorded is not wasted effort, and is not treated as a duplicate to be discarded.

You cannot confirm the same global twice. Repeat submissions from an account already on the contributors list are ignored.

What you earn for submitting

Contributing globals earns EC Credits:

ActionEC Credits
Submitting a global first10
Confirming a global somebody else already submitted10

Both are worth the same, deliberately. Being first is luck, mostly a matter of who happened to be closest. Rewarding it more would turn tracking into a race and give people a reason to withhold confirmations, which is exactly the data we most want.

Anonymous submissions are recorded but earn nothing and cannot confirm, since there is no account to credit or to weigh.

Contributing also earns premium on top of the credits: any day you contribute globals is worth 3 points toward earned premium, and 30 points in a rolling 30-day window grants 30 days of it. Ten days of tracking in a month is enough. Unlike credits, this is scored per day rather than per global, so a busy evening and a quiet one count the same.

What happens after a global is recorded

Each new global sets off several things at once:

  • Avatar, team and land area statistics are updated, so totals and largest-global records move immediately.
  • Event and challenge matching runs, scoring it for any competition it qualifies for.
  • Notification triggers are evaluated, firing any Discord webhooks whose conditions it matches. See Discord webhooks.
  • Live feeds broadcast it to anyone watching the site or subscribed over the SignalR hubs.

Leaderboards are the exception. They are rebuilt on a schedule rather than per global, which is covered in leaderboards.

Why a global might be missing

In rough order of likelihood:

Nobody tracked it. The most common answer by far, particularly for solo play in quiet areas.

Your tracker was closed. It reads the log only while running and does not go back through history.

Your chat settings are wrong. Timestamps have to be enabled for anything to be parsed at all, and this fails silently. See troubleshooting.

Privacy Mode is on. Working as designed: nothing is sent.

Your avatar name does not match. Records attach to an avatar name exactly as the game wrote it. If your account is registered under a slightly different spelling, your globals are recorded but attached to an avatar you have not claimed.

Corrections

Records are not edited on request, because the message the game broadcast is the evidence and it does not change afterwards. What can be fixed is attribution: an avatar claimed by the wrong account, or an account registered under a misspelled name. Contact support for those.
