The Entropia Central wiki is a structured database rather than free-form pages. Every category, whether weapons, creatures, materials or blueprints, has its own set of fields, and entries are linked to each other so a creature can list its loot and a blueprint can list its materials.

Anyone can read and search the wiki. Editing requires maintainer access.

Who can edit

Editing is open to accounts holding one of three roles:

  • Wiki Maintainer, granted by application
  • Moderator
  • Admin

Without one of these, the create and edit pages are not reachable and will send you back to your dashboard.

Applying to become a maintainer

Apply at /apply-for-wiki-maintainer. Applications are reviewed by the team, and you will be notified once yours is decided.

Maintainers who keep entries up to date are granted premium automatically, renewed for as long as they stay active. Nothing to claim and nothing to buy. Running the tracker earns the same premium and needs no role at all. The scoring rules for both are in earning premium.

It helps to say which categories you want to work on and what you already know about them. Maintainers tend to specialise: someone who hunts a lot is the right person for creature data, someone who crafts is the right person for blueprints.

Adding an entry

Each category has its own form, reached from that category's list page. The shape of the form follows the category, but a few fields are common to all of them.

Name is required and is what appears in search and in links from other entries.

Slug is the identifier in the URL, for example /wiki/creatures/atrox. Slugs are generated from the name. Treat a published slug as permanent: changing it breaks every existing link to the entry, including links from other wiki entries and anything shared outside the site.

Description is the body text.

Image is optional. See below for how uploads are handled.

Everything else depends on the category. Weapons carry damage, DPS, decay and efficiency. Creatures carry health and levels. Blueprints carry their material requirements. Fill in what you can verify and leave the rest blank rather than guessing, since a wrong number is worse than a missing one.

Editing an existing entry

Open the entry and use the edit action. The form is the same one used for creation, pre-filled.

Changes are recorded, so entries have a history and edits can be traced back to who made them. If you navigate away with unsaved changes, you will be warned before the form is discarded.

Images and video

Uploads do not appear immediately. Images and video go through an approval queue and are reviewed before they become visible on the public entry. This applies to every upload regardless of who made it.

Upload the clearest shot you can. Screenshots of item information windows are more useful than action shots, because the point is to make the numbers readable.

Every entry is indexed for full text search, with the name weighted most heavily and descriptive and related-entity text weighted below it. Indexing happens automatically when you save, so a new entry is findable straight away.

If an entry does not appear in search after saving, that is worth reporting rather than working around.

Linking between entries

Prefer linking to another wiki entry over repeating its data. Cross-links are what make the wiki more useful than a spreadsheet, and they keep numbers in one place, so a correction only has to be made once.

Always link by slug, never by internal id.
