Privacy Policy
Last Updated: July 18, 2026
1. General
Entropia Central ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. We collect and share personal information only where it is necessary to operate our services, where you have given us your consent, or where we are otherwise permitted or required by law. This Privacy Policy applies to the Entropia Central website, the Entropia Central mobile application ("EC Mobile"), and the EC Tracker desktop application.
Advertising is present on the website only. The mobile app and the desktop application contain no advertising and no advertising software of any kind. Website advertising is described in full in section 2.
Who Is Responsible for Your Data
Entropia Central is the controller responsible for processing your personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). For any data protection question or request, contact us at:
Email: [email protected]
Email Address
Your email address is required during registration and is used solely for:
- Password reset functionality
- Custom user-specified notifications that you choose to enable
We will never use your email address for marketing purposes or share it with third parties.
Cookies (Website Only)
The website uses cookies in two categories:
- Strictly necessary cookies - used to maintain your logged-in session with our server and to remember your advertising consent choices. These are required for the site to function and are set without consent, as permitted by law.
- Advertising cookies - set by Google and its advertising partners to deliver and measure advertising and, where you have consented, to personalise it. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland these are set only after you have given consent. See section 2 for full details.
Our analytics does not use cookies at all, as described below. The mobile app does not use cookies.
Analytics
We use Matomo, a privacy-focused, self-hosted analytics platform, to understand how our website and mobile application are used so we can improve our services. All analytics data is processed and stored exclusively on our own servers. No analytics data is ever sent to or shared with third parties. Our analytics is entirely separate from the advertising described in section 2.
Website Analytics
On the website, Matomo is configured to:
- Respect "Do Not Track" browser settings - if enabled, no data is collected
- Operate without cookies - no analytics cookies are placed on your device
- Not track campaign parameters from URLs
- Collect only anonymous, aggregated usage data such as page views and general traffic patterns
You can opt out of website analytics tracking at any time by enabling the "Do Not Track" setting in your browser.
Mobile App Analytics
In the EC Mobile app, Matomo collects the following anonymous usage data:
- Screen views - which screens are visited within the app (e.g. "Dashboard", "Wiki", "Leaderboard")
- A randomly generated visitor ID - a random 16-character identifier stored locally on your device, used solely to distinguish unique visits in aggregate statistics. This ID is not linked to your account, name, email, or any other personal information
The mobile app analytics does not collect:
- Your name, email address, or account information
- Device identifiers (IDFA, GAID, Android ID, or hardware serial numbers)
- Precise or coarse location data
- Contacts, photos, files, or any on-device content
- Browsing history or data from other apps
- Crash logs or diagnostics
- Any financial or payment information
Mobile analytics is only active in production builds. All data is sent directly to our self-hosted Matomo instance over HTTPS - no third-party analytics services, SDKs, or advertising networks are used in the mobile app. We do not build user profiles from this data, we do not serve advertising in the mobile app, and we do not sell any data.
2. Advertising (Website Only)
The Entropia Central website is supported in part by advertising. Advertising is shown only on the website. The EC Mobile app and the EC Tracker desktop application contain no advertising, no advertising software development kits, and no third-party ad networks.
Who Serves the Advertising
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. For users in Europe this service is provided by Google Ireland Limited. Google and its advertising partners determine independently how they process the data they collect through the advertisements shown on our website.
What Is Collected
When advertising is displayed, Google and its advertising partners may collect and process:
- Cookies and similar identifiers stored on your device
- Your IP address, and an approximate location derived from it
- Device and browser information, such as type, operating system, language, and screen size
- The pages you view on this website and your interaction with the advertisements shown
This data is used to deliver and display advertisements, to measure their performance, to prevent fraud and abuse, and, where you have given consent, to personalise the advertisements you see based on your interests and previous browsing.
Personalised and Non-Personalised Advertising
If you consent to personalised advertising, Google may use cookies and identifiers to show you advertisements based on your previous visits to this and other websites. If you decline, we serve non-personalised advertising instead. Non-personalised advertisements are based only on the content of the page you are viewing and general context, but they still use cookies for frequency capping, aggregated measurement, and fraud prevention.
Declining consent does not remove advertising, it only removes personalisation.
Your Consent
If you access the website from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we ask for your consent before any advertising cookies are placed on your device. Consent is collected through a Google-certified Consent Management Platform implementing the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the website footer. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdrew.
How to Opt Out or Limit Advertising
- Manage Google ad personalisation at myadcenter.google.com
- Use the industry opt-out tools at youronlinechoices.eu (Europe) or optout.aboutads.info (United States)
- Block or delete cookies through your browser settings
For details of how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Advertising-Free Access
Users with an active premium subscription are not shown advertising on the website. Advertising cookies are still governed by your consent choices, which you can review or withdraw at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the website footer.

You can clear all locally stored data by clearing the app's data in your device settings or by uninstalling the app.
5. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. All data transmission is encrypted using industry-standard protocols.
6. Legal Bases for Processing
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) - to create and maintain your account, authenticate you, and provide the features you request.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) - for advertising cookies and personalised advertising, and for optional notifications you choose to enable. You may withdraw your consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) - to keep our services secure, to prevent fraud and abuse, and to understand aggregate usage through cookieless analytics. We weigh these interests against your rights and use the least intrusive means available.
- Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) - where we are required by law to retain or disclose information.
7. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Rectify information that is inaccurate or incomplete
- Erase your account and its associated personal data
- Restrict or object to certain processing, including profiling for advertising purposes
- Data portability - receive your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format
- Withdraw consent at any time, including advertising consent through the Cookie Settings link in the website footer
- Request deletion of your randomly generated analytics visitor ID by clearing app data or uninstalling the app
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in section 12. We will respond within one month, as required by the GDPR.
If you believe we have not handled your personal data lawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
8. International Data Transfers
Where advertising is served, Google and its advertising partners may transfer and process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Google states that such transfers are made under the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses together with additional safeguards. We do not control these transfers. They take place only where you have consented to advertising cookies, or where the processing is otherwise permitted by law.
9. Data Retention
We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide our services and fulfill the purposes outlined in this privacy policy. Game event data collected through EC Tracker is retained indefinitely for historical statistics purposes, but this data is anonymous and not linked to individual users. Analytics data collected via Matomo is retained for a maximum of 12 months and is automatically purged thereafter.
Data collected by Google and its advertising partners through the advertising on our website is retained according to their own retention policies, which we do not control. Please refer to Google's privacy policy for details.
10. Children's Privacy
Our services are not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 18, please contact us immediately.
Because our services are restricted to adults, we do not knowingly permit personalised advertising to be served to minors.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of our services after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
12. Contact Us
If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or our data practices, please contact us via Support case under Dashboard, or via email - [email protected]
