Mind Force is the psionic side of Entropia Universe. Instead of firing a weapon, you use a chip installed in an implant, powered by a consumable called Mind Essence rather than ammunition.
It has its own professions, its own progression, and a reputation for being expensive to develop.
What you need
Three things:
- An implant in your avatar, which is what chips slot into.
- A chip, which determines what the ability does.
- Mind Essence (ME), the consumable that powers it. This is Mind Force's equivalent of ammunition.
What chips do
Chips cover several distinct families:
- Teleport chips, which move you around the world. This is the entry point for most players, because being able to teleport is broadly useful regardless of what you do.
- Healing chips, which restore health to yourself or others. A viable alternative to conventional healing tools, with a different cost profile.
- Attack chips, which damage creatures. This is Mind Force as a hunting style, competing with weapons.
- Utility and buff chips covering various specialist effects.
Mind Force as a hunting style
Attack chips are a genuine alternative to weapons, not a novelty. The trade-offs against a conventional weapon:
- The consumable is different. You are buying Mind Essence rather than ammunition, and its market price behaves independently of ammunition cost.
- The professions are separate. Mind Force skills and professions do not overlap with weapon ones, so switching means starting a new progression rather than continuing an existing one.
- Progression is slow and expensive compared to conventional weapons, which is the usual reason players do not commit to it.
Because of that last point, most players use Mind Force selectively: teleport chips for convenience, healing chips where they suit, and attack chips only if they have decided to build for it.
Sweating and Mind Force
Sweating, the free-to-play activity described in Playing without depositing, uses a Mind Force tool. Vibrant Sweat is also the base of the chain that produces Mind Essence, which is why sweat has a real market: the Mind Force players are the demand behind it.
That connection is worth understanding even if you never use a chip, because it is one of the clearer examples of how the game's crafting chains link two very different groups of players.
Should a new player invest in it?
The consensus is: take the convenience, skip the specialisation until you know you want it.
A teleport chip is broadly useful. Attack chips are a long commitment to a separate progression, and are best approached deliberately rather than because a chip turned up in loot. If you want to test it, test it at low cost before committing, in the same way you would test any other activity.
