Entropia Universe is a single universe containing several planets. Each is built and run by its own development partner, with its own creatures, missions, storyline and feel.

Your avatar is one avatar everywhere. Skills, items and PED travel with you, and the economy is largely shared, so moving between planets is a change of scenery rather than a fresh start.

Planet Calypso

The original and still the busiest. Calypso is where most players are, where most of the community knowledge is, and where a new player will find the most help.

If you are starting out and have no particular reason to go elsewhere, start here. Population matters more than any other factor when you are learning: there are more people to ask, more activity in every market, and better coverage of every creature and resource in community resources like this wiki.

The other planets

Each of the other planets has its own identity, its own creature roster, its own mission chains and its own economy for the materials it produces.

  • Arkadia is known for its own storyline and mission structure.
  • Next Island has a distinct setting and its own progression content.
  • Rocktropia has a strongly themed setting quite unlike the rest of the universe.
  • Cyrene has its own science fiction storyline and creature set.
  • Toulan brings a setting drawn from a different cultural tradition than the others.
  • Monria is a moon rather than a planet, with its own themed content.

There are also space stations and other locations that are neither planet nor moon but are places you can be and do things.

Why the planet matters economically

Planets are not cosmetic variations. They differ in ways that affect what you do:

  • Different creatures mean different loot, and different demand for the materials that loot produces.
  • Different resources mean mining somewhere else finds different things.
  • Different mission rewards, since each planet runs its own progression content.
  • Different population, which affects how quickly anything sells and how much competition there is for good spawns.

A material that is common on one planet and absent from another creates trade between them, and players who move goods around the universe are a real part of the economy.

Choosing where to be

For a new player: Calypso, until you have a reason to be elsewhere.

For an established player, the reasons to move are concrete:

  • A creature or resource you want is there.
  • A mission chain or event you want to do is there.
  • The market for what you produce is better there.
  • You are bored, which is a perfectly good reason in a game you play for years.

Getting between them

Travel between planets goes through space. See Travel and space for how that works and what to watch out for, because space is one of the few places in the game where you can lose what you are carrying.
