Events are community competitions scored automatically from tracked globals. You define what counts and how it is ranked, and the leaderboard updates itself as participants play. No manual score keeping and no spreadsheets.
Any signed-in account can create one, from /events/create. Your events are managed afterwards from your dashboard.
The event itself
| Field | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Name | yes | Shown everywhere the event appears |
| Description | yes | The full write-up on the event page |
| Short description | no | One line used in listings |
| Rules | no | Kept separate from the description so entrants can find them |
| Type | yes | Hunting, Mining, PvP, SpaceMining, Fishing or Mixed |
| Start and end date | yes | Scoring only counts globals inside this window |
| Registration window | no | Defaults to the event window when left empty |
| Banner | no | Header image for the event page |
Pick Mixed when the event spans more than one profession. The type shapes the event page, while what actually scores is decided per category.
Registration modes
| Mode | Behaviour |
|---|---|
Auto | Anyone can join, no approval step |
Manual | You approve each entrant |
InviteOnly | Only people you invite can join |
Setting requires EC account means entrants must have an Entropia Central account with a linked avatar. Turn this on if you intend to pay out rewards, because it is what ties a score to a person you can actually reach.
Team events
Turning on team mode lets entrants compete as teams, with optional minimum and maximum team sizes. Team events are scored by team name, and trophies and rewards go to every registered member of a winning team rather than just the captain.
Categories are where scoring happens
An event needs at least one category. Each category is a separate leaderboard with its own rules, so a single event can run "biggest single loot" and "most globals" side by side.
Scoring modes
| Mode | Ranks by |
|---|---|
HighestSingle | The single best qualifying global |
TotalValue | Sum of all qualifying globals |
Count | Number of qualifying globals |
TopNCount | Sum of the best N globals, where you set N |
TotalKills | Total kills, for PvP |
BestStreak | Longest kill spree, for PvP |
HighestSingle rewards one lucky drop and stays exciting to the end. TotalValue and Count reward sustained play and favour whoever has the most time. TopNCount sits between the two: set N to something like 10 and a participant needs several good runs rather than one, without it becoming a pure endurance contest.
Narrowing what qualifies
A category can be restricted so only certain globals score:
- Global type, for example only hunting globals
- Minimum value, which filters out small globals
- Specific creatures, materials or land areas, chosen from the wiki
A minimum value is worth setting on almost every category. Without one the leaderboard fills with noise.
Presentation
Score label and score suffix control how numbers read on the leaderboard, defaulting to PED. Leaderboard size sets how many places are shown, defaulting to 25. You can also choose to show the creature or land area alongside each entry, which is useful when the category is about where something was hunted.
Rewards
Rewards are attached per category and per placement. A reward can cover a single place or a range, so first through third can share one description rather than needing three identical entries.
Payouts are handled from the event's payout page in your dashboard once the event is complete.
Event lifecycle
Events move through four states:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
Upcoming | Created, start date not reached |
Live | Inside the event window, scoring |
Completed | Past the end date |
Cancelled | Called off |
Status follows your dates, so an event goes live on its own at the start date. There is no approval step before an event is published.
Live leaderboards for streamers
Every category has a chromeless leaderboard view intended for OBS, with no site navigation around it. Add it as a browser source to put a live standings table on stream.
