Leaderboards rank avatars by points earned from tracked globals. There is an overall board and one per profession.

| Board | Covers |
| --- | --- |
| Overall | Every scoring activity combined |
| Hunting | Hunting globals |
| Mining | Mining globals |
| Space mining | Space mining globals |
| Construction | Crafting globals |
| PvP | Kills and killing sprees |

## How points are earned

| Activity | Points |
| --- | --- |
| Hunting global worth 50 PED or more | 6 |
| Hunting global under 50 PED | 3 |
| Mining global | 6 |
| Space mining global | 6 |
| Construction global | 6 |
| PvP, per kill in a spree | 2 |
| PvP, per recorded kill action | 0.5 |
| Rare item | 0.5 |
| Tiering | 5 |
| Discovery | 50 |

Two things in that table are not obvious and change how the boards behave.

**Only hunting has a value threshold.** Mining, space mining and construction score a flat 6 whatever the global was worth, so a 40 PED mining claim counts exactly as much as a 4,000 PED one. Mining boards therefore reward frequency rather than size, and a big single claim moves you no further up than a small one.

**A discovery is worth 50 points**, more than eight hunting globals. One discovery can lift an avatar past people who have been grinding for weeks. That is intentional, since discoveries are rare, but it does mean a sudden jump in the standings usually has a single cause.

## What the rankings cover

**A rolling three month window.** Points age out. The boards show who has been active recently rather than who has played longest, so a break of a few months drops you off regardless of lifetime totals.

**Team globals are excluded entirely.** They score nothing towards leaderboards, for any profession. A team global still appears on your profile, on the team's profile, and in the feeds, and it can still score in an event; it just does not count here.

This is the single most common complaint about the boards, and the reason is that a team global is one event credited to several avatars. Counting it for each of them would make hunting in a large team the fastest way to climb, which measures group size rather than activity.

## When standings update

**Leaderboards rebuild once a day, at 00:00 UTC.** They are not live.

So a global you land now appears in the feeds and on your profile within seconds, but does not move your ranking until the next rebuild. If your position has not changed after a good session, you are almost certainly looking at yesterday's standings.

Society leaderboards rebuild shortly afterwards, at 00:15 UTC.

## Finding yourself

Every board takes a search, so you can jump to an avatar directly instead of paging through to find your position.
